Peintre franco-venézuélienne, née en 1957 à Caracas, Alexandra Poleo vit entre l’Amérique du Sud et Paris. Son père, le célèbre peintre Hector Poleo et sa mère la céramiste Adela Rico l’initient aux arts plastiques. Une vocation pour la peinture et le chant classique l'amènera à poursuivre de front des études au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris et des études d’histoire de l’art. En 1985, après quelques années de carrière lyrique elle fera sa première exposition individuelle à Caracas. Depuis cette époque les expositions se sont succédées, saluées par la critique. Elle a également réalisé des bijoux et participé en tant que poète à des anthologies en espagnol et en français.

Born in Caracas in 1957, Alexandra Poleo is a French Venezuelan painter living between South America and Paris. She was born into a family of artists, her father being the famous painter Hector Poleo and her mother the ceramist Adela Poleo. A vocation for painting led her to study History of Art and to participate at her first collective exhibition in 1977. A vocation for music led her to study in the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, winning in 1984 a 2nd Prize in classical singing. After a short career as an opera singer, she had a first solo exhibition in Caracas. Now she paints full-time, recognised by the critics. She also designed jewellery and written poetry published in anthologies in both Spanish and French.
